So I'm trying desperately to get a female Eevee, I've been mating my male Flareon with a ditto in hopes of getting a female Eevee, however all of the eggs I've hatched thus far have all been males. Is it possible to receive a pokemon that is the opposite gender of the non-ditto parent? Or have I just bred a multitude of Eevees for no reason?

The gender of the pokemon has no effect on the outcome of the gender. You can breed ditto with magneton, which has no gender. Eevee just has a really not chance of being a girl (1/8 chance). Don't expect it every 8 though, remember you could get unlucky, just like you can flip a coin 7 times, and have it land all on heads, each time the chance is 1/2, the previous chances have no influence.

Yes it is possible. However, female Eevees are rare. I would suggest traveling with a pokemon that has the magma armor or flame body ability. It will cut the amount of steps it takes to hatch an egg in half and you can get to those female Eevees faster.

Yes, the gender of a pokemon that has been bred from ANY parents is not influenced by any factors except for the gender ratio of the actual species. In other words, YES

Eevee's gender ratio is 87.5 male to 12.5 female. So it may take a while but it is possible.
