What's the best pokemon heartgold team? I don't really like my team ..?

I just started and the pokemon starter I chose is a cyndaquil. Right now, he's a quilava lvl 16
Here's my team so far:
Quilava - lvl 16
Geodude - Lvl 14
Rattata - Lvl 10
Metapod - Lvl 5
Mareep - Lvl 6.
Lolololol. I know, my team is bad. I couldn't find any good pokemon so far in the journey so .. x.x. What is the best pokemon heartgold team with the starter? :D

meganium is pretty much the greatest johto starter. Strong pokemon in HeartGold: Gyardos, Ampharos, Dragonite, Kingdra, Steelix, Ho-oh, Suicune, Entei, Raikou, Gengar, Scizor, pretty much all steel types, Eevee forms and lengendaries. Hope this helps!

cydaquil/totodile

growlithe(near goldenrod city if u chose totodile)

pidgey/hoothoot

geodude

aipom( headbutt trees in elex forrest)

u get headbutt by movetutor in ellex forest

Cyndaquil is the best starter. And so what? You can start with any pokemon, then you can train them.
