Of course. The RPG industry was once a beehive of games... Google some of them and you'll find information gallore.

Star wars RPG : old edition had it's own system, new edition uses the D&D rules

Star trek RPG : never played it, never heard much of it

Farscape RPG : based on the TV series

Rifts RPG : weird mix of postapocalyptic dimension-spanning magic-sci-fi version of earth

Gurps Space : Gurps is a generic system, there are some space-based supplements

Space Master : the space oriented spin-off from RoleMaster (ICE publishing)

See also Fading Suns RPG, Traveller RPG, Final Frontier RPG, Alternity RPG, Gamma World RPG, even Red Dwarf RPG

You'll find one that suits your tastes ;-)

Here's what I recommend for lovers of space/alien TV series: Andromeda Babylon 5 Battlestar Galactica - Both the 1978 series and the 2003 version Earth: Final Conflict - Although it takes place mostly on Earth Farscape Firefly Lost in Space - True ... it's silly and childish in spots but also has space and aliens. Space 1999 - Critisized by many and loved by many. Space: Above & Beyond Star Trek (All 5 series) - If you passed up any of them for any reason, you made a mistake! Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis (Absolutely top quality sci-fi!) UFO - A little known 1970-71 British series "V" - The miniseries, The Final Battle miniseries, and the 19 episode TV series. (Mostly on Earth) And these anthology series had some space/alien episodes: The Outer Limits both 1963 and 1994 versions Science Fiction Theatre (1955-57) The Twilight Zone 1959, 1985, and 2002 versions

I think it has been all covered. Star Frontiers is OOP but avaliable online with all the modules/adventures free, just google it. Star Frontiers is more than a couple of years. It is percentage base, not THAC0. I love Star Frontiers but seriously it is a little outdated. Zebulon's Guide was the TSR's failed attempt to revamp Star Frontiers rules to the color columns like Gamma World 3rd Edition (I don't 3rd Edition or it might be the 2nd Edition)

I would suggest Traveller and/or GURPS. If you play 3.0, they have Traveller d20lite rules and you can order it from their website. and they also have GURPSlite avaliable with a free mini SCI-FI adventure.

Yes in fact there is the game D20 Future which is an expansion on the D20 modern line by Wizards of the Coast.

It uses the D&D 3.5 rule set as a base, with slight modifications.

it is fairly compatible with Dungeons and Dragons 3.5.

So in point it is literally a Sci-fi/modern version of D&D.

There was a game made by TSR several years ago. It was a space version of D&D. It used the same mechanic as D&D of the time (think THAC0). It was called Star Frontiers. I only really played it a couple of times. I could never get my game group to get into it. But I am sure you can find it somewhere.

Babylon 5 is a good one, sadly ended a few years ago but if you can find it online or on DVD I'm sure you'd enjoy it. And Red Dwarf, again not being made anymore but good if you like comedy Sci-Fi.
