Question:
Corrupted save file on Pokemon: Platinum. What should I do?
?

For some odd reason, my Pokemon: Platinum Version is not loading up when I start my DS. I turn on my DS, start up the game, and a blue error screen pops up saying "The save data could not be accessed. Please turn the power off and reinsert the DS Game Card." I keep taking the DS card out and putting it back into the DS, and that error screen STILL pops up. Is there anything I can do to possibly make this game work? It would be a shame to have all of that progress in my game to go away...

Are there any wizards of technology that can help me with this dilemma?

Thanks for your help everyone!

Normally when a save becomes corrupt it will attempt to use a prior save to recover. Keep going and see what it does. Or you can try another DS.

In my experience, I was able to make the error go away by removing the cartridge itself from the plastic and placing it in a Toaster at between 350-400 degrees. This was enough to recover the save and back it up using an Action Replay DSI. Depending on the severity your game may save fine afterwards however, in my case it was only able to load a save made prior to the last before it broke. After receiving the error in Pokemon White 2 I repaired it the same way I did with Pokemon Platinum and it works fine/ saves fine.
