Not even on Top 10, but it is on the 12th place... Do you still consider that as the best online game?
I would say it is the best sega dreamcast game I ever seen..
If you love purple or Barney, you'll love world of warcraft..

8 million people have a stupid idea, it's still a stupid idea: Popularity doesn't mean it's well done. Many people enjoy WoW but that doesn't make it a great game. There are plenty of other lesser known cult classics that were just made better.

However, every list you look at will rank the games differently. WoW is actually towards the bottom of the barrell for me, I enjoy Counter Strike, Ragnarok, Socom 1, 2, 3 and Combat Assult, FFXI, and i'm playing the best MMORPG out there.. Number 1 Eve-Online and much much more. But those are my top picks and the list will vary person to person, reviewer to reviewer, critic to critic. but only dumbass would actually pick WoW. and I guess there are 8 millions of them

If you are judging the "best" game, you are talking about opinions. What one person likes may not be what someone else likes.

As for your "Top 10 List", the list is compiled based on votes cast by the people who visit that site. Since I never even heard of this site before today, not sure what kind of sampling of the public you would get

Plus, if you look at the ratings, World of Warcraft scored a 8.1 which ties the three games above it (City of Heroes, City of Villians, Ultima Online). So it just as easily could be rated #9.

If 8 million paying subscribers, with a yearly revenue of 1.44 billion dollars makes it only 12th place, then hats off to those 11. Where I checked, World of Warcraft was number 1, not 12.
