Pokemon sapphire problem?

I have pokemon sapphire originally for gameboy advance sp and i think its broken. Whenever i beat a gym leader i receive the tm but no hm for example cut. I need the hms to move on in the game. I was wondering if there is anything i am doing wrong

In pokemon the gym leader never gives you the hm you have to find it your game is fine. Although most hms are really easy to get. In that game HM cut is located in that same city a few houses over at the cut house with a sign in front of it. Inside the "cut master" will give it to you. I should also say that no where in that game do you need cut to pass through the game.

Your not doing anything wrong lol

Gym leaders never give you an HM

They only give you TM's

You get HM's from people in the game,

So make sure you talk to all the random people in the game.

attempt changing the pokedex itemizing order. if the itemizing is in the previous pokedex mode that's the ascending order of pokemon identity numbers, you would be waiting to view even the considered ones. i had an identical problem with pokemon gold and platinum.
